Carl Stanley Roland Carlberg, age 93, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Eleanor Lindell Carlberg, died Wednesday August 19, 2015 at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. Mr. Carlberg was born in Plainville, CT and was a Bridgeport resident most of his life. He was a retired Tool and Dye Maker. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the European Campaign from 1942 to 1945. He was a life member of the Salem Lutheran Church, a member of the Senior Choir, Lutheran Men's Bowling League , the Northstar Singers and the Scandinavian Club. He is survived by his children; Roland J. Carlberg and his wife Lucy, of Milford, Barbara Howard, of Bethany and Janice Luiciani and her husband James, of Fairfield. One brother Roy Carlberg, of Norwalk. Grandchildren; Christopher Luiciani and his wife Laura and Charlie, Scott Luiciani , Lindell Carlberg, Betsy Sudac, and Christopher Sudac and his wife Melissa and Desi, and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Friday August 21, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Salem Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Burial will be in Mt. Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport with full Military Honors. Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.
