Carl J. Zlamany, 87, was called to heaven on October 7, 2022. He was a talented singer and member of the Mad Hatter Barbershop Chorus. Survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Bette) Zlamany; and five children: Caryn Rickel, Brenda Zlamany, Stephen Zlamany, Christine Zlamany, and Richard Zlamany Rosewood. The funeral was held at Honan Funeral Home in Newtown, CT, and burial at Lawn Cemetery, Shelton, CT.

Our Father Carl Zlamany
Was it the house he bought
Or the lawn he cut?
Was it the porch he repaired
Or the shingles he stained?
Was it the bushes he shaped
The trips to the lakes?
The rides on the sailboat
Or the leaves that we raked?
Was it the wiring or the plumbing
The carpentry or Spring Cleaning?
Was it the schools and the food
or the evening newspaper reading?
Was it the Christsmas trees and the singing?
Was it the lodges and the skiing?
Was it the boxing gloves in the cellar?
Was it the hugging and the kissing?
Was it the big cars, the small cars,
The convertibles, the vacations?
The pine needles, the pine cones
Or the mere family relation?
It was and is... all of these things.
