Carmelo Sampieri Obituary
Carmelo D. (Junior) Sampieri, 86, devoted husband of Ann (Fazzino) Sampieri of Middletown, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013, at home. He was born on May 26, 1927 in Derby, CT, son of the late Carmelo and Margarite Sampieri and grew up in Ansonia, CT. He was well known and respected in his community for his service to his church, his kindness and generosity, and his love for his friends and family, especially for his beautiful wife of 65 years. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his daughters, Joanne and Marie, his grandchildren Kristen (Steven) and Eric (Tara), his great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Meadow, Sydney and Dan, his sisters Marge Guliuzza of Seymour, CT and Nellie Funaro of North Haven, CT. He was predeceased by his brothers Michael, Emilio, Joseph, Orlando, William, Samuel, Anthony and Norman, and his sisters Frances Sampieri, Ann Ferillo and Frances Rusinik. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:15 am in St. Sebastian's Church, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Sebastian's cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Thursday night at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S. Main St., Middletown from 5:00-7:00 pm and Friday at St Sebastian's Church from 10:00-11:15 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Sebastian Church Renovation Fund. Online condolences available at dangelofuneralhome.com.

dear ann; please accept our sincere condolences upon the passing of carm..although we have been gone from Middletown for over 56 years thewe shall always treasure carm's great charm..he was a class act and always had the best smile in town..his statue should be next to st. sebastain's as he represented "our" church to the highest degree..he shall always be in our prayers....rosemarie and john garofalo
