Carol Stone Obituary

Carol Garofalo Stone
Carol Garofalo Stone, age 66, of Stamford, passed away Friday, September 30th, 2022.
She was born in the Bronx, NY on February 12th, 1956, to Dr. Frank Garofalo and Juliana Marie Garofalo.
Carol was raised in Westchester County, NY, the third of eight children. She said her greatest legacy in life was her children, Patrick Stone (38) and Katherine Stone (36); along with her grandson, Maximus Stone (2); who brought her immeasurable joy in her final years. Carol was a fearless litigator and advocate for her clients, for whom she cared deeply. Her integrity, tireless work ethic, and kindness rubbed off on everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She held an unshakeable faith in God and the Divine which was matched by her commitment to spiritual growth and learning. Everyone in her personal and professional sphere benefitted as a result.
Carol is survived by her son, Patrick J. Stone of Stamford, CT and his wife, Yiran Li; her daughter, Katherine F. Stone, of Ojai, California; grandson Maximus Lin Stone; six siblings: John Garofalo of Summerland Key, Florida, Julie Wyckoff of Southport, CT, Frank Garofalo of Princeton, Massachusetts, Tony Gomes of Larchmont, NY, Mary Garofalo of Saratoga Springs, Theresa Morelli of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Greg Garofalo of Saratoga Springs; as well as many friends and colleagues. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph F. Garofalo of Burlington, Vermont.
Services to remember Carol will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6th, at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield, CT.
In lieu of flowers, and for those who wish, contributions in Carol's memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of her St. Jude's medical heart valve, which she underwent surgery to receive in 1997, allowing her to continue her career, pay for her children's college educations, and help so many friends, family and colleagues along the way.

Dear Kate-- I went to law school with your mom. She was lovely in every way. She sang Ave Maria at my wedding in 1981. I'm so sorry to hear she died. She had many friends in law school and we shared many happy times. We spoke around 2013, and she told me of her wonderfully beautiful and successful daughter--YOU. Her pride in you was certainly justified. I saw the photo (Instagram?) of you both and that's when I learned of her passing. I enjoy your photos and postings mainly because I know whose daughter you are. I loved your mom very much and my life was enriched by knowing her. I'm sure you feel her loss deeply but remember that you were formed from her very flesh and bones--that will never change. May her beautiful spirit live on in you, her beautiful daughter. And may God bestow upon you the abundance of blessings from your mother's storehouse of good deeds and kindness she created during her life. A heritage of faith and blessings are yours.
