Charlotte Nibbelink Obituary

Charlotte Bukofsky
Watman Nibbelink
March 25, 2025
Charlotte "Char" Bukofsky Watman Nibbelink of Thousand Oaks, CA, passed peacefully, March 25, 2025, in Thousand Oaks, CA. Char was born in Bridgeport, CT, in 1927, to the late Morris Bukofsky and Rose Grayevsky. Char and her first husband, Hal Watman, founded Camp Gilowat, which ran from 1962 until 1973, after which they purchased Camp Hadar, which ran from 1975 to 1987. The joy these places brought to hundreds of children created friendships that last to this day.
Char's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Lenny (Laura) Comerchero of Pompano Beach, FL, Jeri Eget of Tarzana, CA, Garry Watman of Salt Lake City, UT, Karen (Brad) Johnson of Thousand Oaks, CA and Bobby (Meredith) Watman of Miami Beach, FL. Char is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Margo Watman. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Lenny, and spouses, Hal Watman and Duane Nibbelink.
A service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
