Claire McQuillan Obituary
Claire Conway McQuillan, 101 of Fairfield, the beloved wife of the late James F. McQuillan, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 25, 2021 in her home. She was born in Clondalkin, Ireland to the late Michael and Mary Conway.
Arriving in America at the age of 18, Claire resided in Bridgeport and was welcomed by her many cousins in Westport. After the war, she married and she and her husband raised their family in Fairfield.
Claire was a very kind and thoughtful woman, with a sweet nature and she made an impact on all who met her. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Claire was the loving mother of one son, Kevin McQuillan and his wife Barbara of Seattle and three daughters, Lynn McQuillan, Mary McQuillan and Kathleen Beal and her husband Andrew, all of Fairfield. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Eric McQuillan, Ashley Allanson and Sean Saksa, as well as her two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
In addition to her husband, Claire was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and Kevin Conway.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to The Salvation Army, 300 North Benson Rd., Fairfield, CT 06824 or to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County, 1542 Barnum Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06610.
