Clarence Cleveland Obituary

CLEVELAND Clarence Seymer Cleveland, age 84, of Barefoot Bay, Fla., formerly of Milford, died on February 28, 2003, in the Sebastian Mediacal Center in Indian River County, Fla. He was born on November 2, 1918, to the late Otto and Matilda Pearson Cleveland, in Bennett, Wis. He is a Navy veteran of World War II, shere he served as a parachute rigger 1st class and also served with the Merchant Marine. He moved to Florida after retiring from AVCO in Stratford in 1981 as polisher and buffer. Mr. Cleveland was a member of the Spinner and Twirles Square Dance Club, the Scandinavian Club, the Barefoot Bay Sofeball Legue and a volunteer with SNAP program, and various other organizations. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Cleveland of Milford, Charles Cleveland of Stratford and William Gill of Milford; a daughter, Dorothy Andrews of Milford; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Cleveland is predeceased by his loving wife, Irene Albright Cleveland; brothers, Ralph, Ernest, Algot, Harry and Arthur Cleveland; and sisters, Helen Vengrin and Elayne Kivie. Calling hoyrs are Friday, March 7th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad Street, Milford. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 8th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery.
