Donald M. Andrews, Sr., 82, of Shelton, entered peaceful rest on Dec. 23, 2023, with his devoted family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol Jean (Karkut) Andrews. Donald was born in Derby on Apr. 28, 1941, son of the late Herbert W. and Alta M. (Whalers) Andrews. He was retired form Pop Fastener Co., Shelton, where he worked as a Tool and Dye Setter, Shipping and Receiving, Quality Control and Class A Carpenter from 1961 to 1997. Donald enjoyed riding motorcycles, where he and his wife rode cross-country and camped along the way; he also loved camping in Rhode Island for over 50 years and the music of Elvis Presley. Mr. Andrews leaves his loving family, including his daughter, Debra Paz (Richard) of Bethany; a son, Donald M. Andrews, Jr. (Marilyn) of Otego, NY; a sister, Betty Beecher of Beacon Falls; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; cousins, Jack and Karen O'Donnell of Shelton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert W. Andrews, Jr. Calling Hours are Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Funeral Service of Requiem Eucharist, in celebration of Donald's life, will be Saturday, at 11 a.m., DIRECTLY at Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church St., Seymour. Interment will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Derby, at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts may be sent to VFW Post 9460, 100 Veterans Blvd., Stratford, CT 06615.
