Doris Botsford Obituary

BOTSFORD Doris H. Botsford, age 74, beloved wife of Charles W. "Chuck" Botsford of Brushy Hill Road, Newtown, died Tuesday April 18, 2006 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Newtown. She was born in Bridgeport on July 3, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Benko) Janocsko . Doris was raised and educated in Newtown and was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1949. She was Chief Telephone operator at Fairfield Hills Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1986. Doris was an avid Motorcycle Rider and was a member of the Hat City Riders Motorcycle Club. She was a former member of the Connecticut Barrel Racers Association. In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by three daughters, Maria B. DuBois of Morris, Jody B. Wells, of Washington, and Kelly Botsford King of Wingdale, N.Y. Also survived by four grandchildren, Jason C. DuBois, Joshua C. DuBois, Amanda C. Wells and Christina A. Wells. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday April 22, 2006 in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street Newtown. Interment in Huntingtown Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 344, Newtown, CT 06470 or to the charity of one's choice.

Mike & I go way back with Dorie & Chuck to when we were all single and riding Harleys.(back in the 50's) We have been friends for many years and we will sadly miss seeing Dorie at Daytona every year. Godspeed Dorie.
