Doris Horsfall Obituary

HORSFALL Doris M. Horsfall of the Huntington section of Shelton, and Boynton Beach, Fla., died on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the age of 82. Born in Spring Valley, N.Y., she was the daughter of Lillian and William Mayer of Huntington, L.I. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Charles Horsfall; three sons, R. Alan (Chip) Platow of Wayne, Pa., and Lake Forest, Fla., Bill Platow of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and David Platow of Fairfield; two stepchildren, Bill Horsfall and Barbara Siemon; six grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. A longtime resident of Westport, Doris was an active participant in numerous church and civic activities. As a supporter of children's sports, she followed Little League, football and swimming events. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Southport Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Doris Horsfall Memorial Fund of the Southport Congregational Church, 524 Pequot Avenue, P.O. Box 366, Southport, CT 06890.
