Edith Salce (Dolly) of Trumbull passed away on September 27, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Born June 11, 1930 in Mount Vernon, NY, she was raised in Bridgeport, CT, before making Trumbull her home for more than 70 years with her husband, Anthony Henry Salce Sr. (Tony). Together, they built not just a house, but a home filled with love, laughter, and generations of family memories. Dolly first met Tony while scooping ice cream at Cutrufello Creamery in Bridgeport, and from that sweet beginning grew a lifelong love story. They married on May 10, 1952, and raised three children who, along with eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, were the joy of her life. Their home was the heart of family gatherings, famous for Christmas Eve feasts, poolside parties, and lively card games. For many years, they also called a sunny beachside apartment in Fort Lauderdale home, creating even more happy memories and lasting friendships. Over the years, Dolly embraced many roles: a model, helper at her sister's fruit stand, trusted face in the jewelry department at G. Fox, and devoted Catholic. Yet her favorite roles were wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She poured herself into nurturing her family and showering her grandchildren with endless affection. Known for her energy and playful spirit, Dolly never missed a chance to enjoy life. She was a fierce card player at her weekly bridge and canasta games at the Trumbull Senior Center, where she made many friends. She was a best friend, a rock, and a woman unafraid to speak her mind, teaching those around her the value of integrity, resilience, and love. Dolly was predeceased by her husband, Tony; her parents, Michael and Anna D'Eramo; and her siblings Trent, Nelly, Peter, Orest, and Gloria. She is survived by her children, Cindy and Michael Niedermeier, Linda and Donald Mazzarella, Anthony and Sheila Salce Jr., and her daughter-in-law Ruth Salce; grandchildren, Jaime and Chris McAuliffe, Michael and Lindsey Niedermeier Jr., Allison and Andrew Lee, Neal Mazzarella, Callie Stivenson, Anthony Salce III, Amy and Ted Rooney, and Arleigh Salce; and great-grandchildren, Aubree, Ryan, Braxton, Austin, Evelyn, Henry, Nicholas, and Vera Lynn; many nieces and nephews; and her dearest best friend, Lee Cavaliere. Family was everything to Dolly. She left this world as she lived in it, surrounded by them through celebration, dancing, and laughter, now reunited with the love of her life. She will be missed beyond words, but remembered with smiles, stories, and the enduring love she left in the hearts of all who knew her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Trumbull Senior Center, 23 Priscilla Place, Trumbull, CT 06611 in her honor.
