Edward "Eddie" Robert Bader, 86 years old, of Trumbull passed away on December 18th, 2022. Edward was born in Bridgeport on September 23, 1936 to Benjamin and Bessie (Levine) Bader. He attended Central High School and went on to earn a degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University and later a Masters degree in education from the University of Connecticut. He started his teaching career in Colchester and continued in the Newtown public school system.
He was lovingly called, Papa, by his beloved family. Eddie loved movies, musicals, and Broadway. He started his passion for theater arts in the acting troupe of SCSU, as well as, the American Shakespeare Theater of Stratford, Connecticut.
Eddie retired from teaching in 1993 to devote the rest of his life to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eddie met the love of his life, Elaine Fineberg at Hebrew school when a young child. Reconnecting with her at a Sweet 16 party and proposing on the stage of a college Shakespearean play during intermission, Eddie married his bride on June 14, 1959 and enjoyed a long, healthy and happy 64 years of marriage.
Eddie is survived by his wife Elaine Reva (Fineberg) Bader of Trumbull, his two children: Dr. Joel (Miriam) Bader, Beth Bader (Yacov) Tepper and grandchildren: Rebecca Bader Maurer (Eric), Oren (Fiancé Anna) Tepper, Dr. Yarden (Partner David) Tepper, Rabbi Barak (Libbie) Bader, and Sivan (fiancé Dylan) Tepper, and great-grandchildren: Amichai Tzvi Maurer, Matan Maurer and Eyal Raphael Bader.
He was predeceased by four siblings: William, Phillip, and Samuel Bader and his sister Barbara Bader Berg.
Funeral services will be held at: Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield on Tuesday, December 20th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Bikur Cholim Cemetery, 250 Reid Street, Fairfield, at 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday at Congregation B'nai Torah, 5700 Main St., December 20th following the burial at 2:00 p.m. Minyan will be at 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Shiva after Tuesday will be at the home of Beth and Yacov Tepper.
