Edward Sachs Obituary

SACHS Edward Sachs, age 77, a resident of Shelton for over 35 years, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Sachs was born in New Haven, a son of the late Jacob and Rose Sachs, and was a graduate of Clark University with a Bachelor's Degree in Science, and The University of Bridgeport with a Master's Degree in Clinical Science. Mr. Sachs served in the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Totten in New York during the Korean War. Mr. Sachs had been retired from Bridgeport Hospital where he was a clinical chemist for many years. Mr. Sachs is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; his devoted daughters, Lisa Matz and her husband, Kevin of Somers, N.Y., Andrea Lynn Sachs of Los Angeles, Calif.; his adored grandchildren, Adam and David Matz; cherished brother and sister, Howard Sachs and his wife, Lenore of Fairfield, and Janice Davis and her husband, Stephen of Manalapan, N.J.; nieces and nephews, Jarel, Mark, Robert, Judith, Michael, Susan, Deborah; and several great-nieces and nephews. Mr. Sachs was predeceased by his son, Martin Edward Sachs. Services will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 1 p.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with interment following at Rodeph Sholom Memorial Park on Kings Hwy. in Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Food Bank.
