Bridgeport has lost a "super star" with the passing of Ed Gomes. He was a vibrant personality who truly loved Bridgeport and did everything in his power to make life better for the citizens of this City. With his big smile and hearty laugh, Ed's memory will live on in the hearts of the many people who knew and loved him. My sincere condolences to his family-may he rest in peace.

Senator Gomes was a very strong compassionate soul. He was much more of a giver than a taker who took pride in his tireless work for his community. His street smarts and his wisdom helped him to do the right thing in his political and social life. His untimely and tragic death is a tremendous loss to our City of Bridgeport and our State. He was an extraordinary man and I will miss him.
