Eleanor A. Iannarone
Eleanor A. Iannarone, 82, of Milford, passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was born on April 26th, 1943, in Bridgeport CT to the late Henry and Alice Artman. She was the beloved wife of Michael J. Iannarone, the love of her life, for nearly 62 years.
Eleanor met the love of her life, Michael, on a blind group date arranged by mutual friends-Michael had won a coin toss for the first pick of the ladies. Their meeting sparked an immediate connection. That very evening, Eleanor returned home and confidently told her mother that she had found the man she would marry. That heartfelt certainty became reality on May 23rd, 1964, when the two were wed at St. Patrick's Church in Bridgeport, CT.
A proud graduate of Milford High School, Eleanor went on to run her own home daycare, where she became known for her compassionate, dependable care and natural gift with children. While her career was meaningful, Eleanor's greatest joy came from being a mother. She relished the small moments-sneaking her children out for secret McDonald's lunches and letting them stay home when they needed a quiet day. To each of her children, she was their first and truest best friend, confidant and sometimes coconspirator. In her quiet moments, Eleanor loved watching Days of Our Lives, a show she followed from its very first episode, building an almost encyclopedic knowledge of every storyline. Her warmth, wit, and unwavering love will be remembered always.
In addition to her beloved husband, Michael, Eleanor is survived by their two daughters: Gina Wootton (husband Mark) and Catherine "Kate" Iannarone (partner Greg Jacobson). Five grandchildren: Mary Iannarone (husband John Murphy), Matthew Iannarone (husband Adrien Tsuzuki), Jack Wootton, Grace Wootton, Christopher Wootton, and great-granddaughter Emily Murphy. Eleanor joins in heaven her son Michael Iannarone, baby son Christopher Iannarone, son Christopher Iannarone, brother Henry Artman, and brother Donald Artman.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 12th, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 13th, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street Milford, CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).
