Elizabeth Slesinski, 93, of Fairfield, CT, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving sister and niece, overlooking Branford Harbor at The Connecticut Hospice. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Krol) Koziol. She was the wife of the late Stanley Slesinski who passed away on July 25, 1979. Elizabeth worked as an inspector/assembler at Remington Rand for 53 years. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino, shopping and going out to eat, with her favorite foods being potato pancakes, ice cream and hot dogs from Dutchess Restaurant. Betty will be dearly missed by her sister Josephine and her nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield. Survivors: Sister Josephine Curmaci of Taylor, PA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters Carolyn Pawloski and Veronica Flowers, both of Scranton, PA, Ann Cummings, Clarks Summit, PA and Mildred Orloski, Newtown, CT and her brothers Henry Koziol and Stanley Koziol, both of Scranton, PA, Terry Koziol, Fairfield, CT, John Koziol, Dunmore, PA and Joseph Koziol, Alexandria, VA. A special thank you to the caregivers at Vising Angels in Fairfield, who always made sure Betty was taken care of, and that she got out for shopping and especially for lunch! Thank you also to her aides at Bridges by Epoch at Trumbull and to the staff at The Connecticut Hospice who made her last days peaceful. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24 at Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service.
