Erik Robert Uus

Erik Uus Obituary

UUS Erik Robert Uus, age 40, of Trumbull, died suddenly on Saturday, January 24, 2004, at Bridgeport Hospital. He was a kind, loving husband and father who was always helping others without question. His family and friends will always remember him as one who thought of others and anticipated their needs before his own. He has a wonderful and kind soul and that is how all his family and friends will remember him. He was born in Syracuse, N.Y., he was a son of Henno and Reet Antsman Uus of Marlborough. In addition to his parents, survivors include his devoted wife of 13 years, Marianne Uus who loved him dearly and thanks God for each day she had with him; two cherished children, a son, Michael Robert Uus and a daughter, Emily Joan Uus, all of Trumbull; one brother, Peter Uus of Norwalk; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Joan Messemer of Trumbull who thought of him as a third son; an aunt, Milvi Villomann and her husband, Arved of Long Island, N.Y.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Nancy Messemer of Shelton, Michael and Lisa Messemer of Florida, Karen and William Cook of Massachusetts; nieces and nephews, Katie, Kelly, Brian and Grace; cousins, Anne Villomann and Peter Villomann and his wife, Regina and their children, Krista and Anders Villomann; and many other dear aunts, uncles and cousins from his wife's family as well as many dear friends. He was a clinical systems analyst for Norwalk Hospital, and received a B.S. in Cytogenetics from the University of Connecticut and a master's degree in Environmental Science concentrating in Health from the University of New Haven. He wrote his thesis on environmental damage in Estonia. He received a graduate certificate in Information Technology from Sacred Heart University. He was a kind, loving family man who was always helping others without question. He loved to read history and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed all sports especially football. He was a youth soccer coach for his son's team and loved to watch all his daughter's soccer games. Family was the most important thing in his life and he showed it every day. His children filled his heart with joy in everything they did. Erik also earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth. He made us all too happy and leaves us heartbroken to let him go. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull on Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Nichols Village Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to an education fund that will be established for the benefit of his children through the funeral home.

Memories and Condolences

Not sure what to say?

Michael Rebaczonok

Dear Marianne and family,

My sincerest, deepest condolences on your tragic loss.

I am an old friend of Erik's mother, Reet Uus, who told me the sad news in a letter which I received only yesterday, as I live in Singapore.

I knew Erik as a quiet, friendly teenager back in the late '70's when I was in the USA, and that's how I'll always remember him as that remains my mental image of him.

I can't believe he's gone and can only extend my deepest sympathies to all his family members.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you for a long time to come.

Sincerely,

Michael Rebaczonok

Marianne, Michael, Emily and family,

We were so devasted when we had heard that Erik had passed. We know that there are no words we can say that will ease the pain you are feeling. Erik was a wonderful person that was so full of life and so giving to everyone. We will always remember his spirit and the "Go Blue Lightning" sign he'd bring to the soccer games. He'd run pass us all as we'd touch the sign to wish the boys good luck in their game. We will continue to touch that sign in his memory and remember all those lives that he touched. Erik, we will never forget you. Don't worry about Marianne and the children as they have so many wonderful, caring people watching over them. We too, will always be there for them.

Always in our thoughts,

Lisa, Chuck, Tyler & Danielle Ruderman
