Esther Zimmer

ZIMMER Esther Zimmer, age 94, a resident of Fairfield for the past 58 years, passed away on Thursday April 14, 2011 after being ill for several months. Mrs. Zimmer was born in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Philip and Anna Schneider, was and It is there that she and her late husband Harold raised their three children. Esther's flame burned brightly from childhood until the very end. She was a vivacious woman, who made a lasting impression on all who met her. She was a life long member of the Workmen's Circle and a long time member of Congregation Ahavath Achim. Mrs. Zimmer is survived by her devoted children, Seena Katz and her husband Joseph, Joel Zimmer and his wife Lois, Peter Zimmer and his wife Paula; her adored grandchildren, Jeffrey (Janet), Jonathan (Younghee), Peter (Stephanie) Katz, Brooke Koven (Ted), Todd Zimmer (Liz), Eli Zimmer (Sugey), Zachary Zimmer (Briar), and Matthew Aaron (Johanna). She also leaves four great grandchildren, Teddy and Quinn Koven, Arabella Katz and Dennis Katz. She will also be remembered by her loving brother Edward Schneider, and several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law. She was also pre deceased by her older brother Alex Redein, and many loving family members and friends. Her family is extremely grateful for the wonderful and loving care she received these last three months from Agnes Sikora. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with interment following at Workmen's Circle Cemetery on Reid Street.
