Evelyn Scarpa Obituary

SCARPA Evelyn P. Scarpa of Derby, entered into rest on Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Franklyn J. Scarpa. She was born in Derby, on July 11, 1911, to the late John Pucella and Elvira Landolfi Pucella and was raised in Derby by her mother and stepfather, the late Frank Turro and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Scarpa and her family owned Scarpa Electric Supply Co. for 60 years until her retirement in 2003. She was the loving mother of Dr. Francis J. Scarpa of Greenwich and John Scarpa of Shelton; and sister of Joseph Turro of Florida. Mrs. Scarpa was the loving grandmother of David, Paul and Juliette Scarpa; and great-grandmother of Carlo Scarpa. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Turro; and sisters, Theresa Fagan and Elvira Purcella. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Her burial will be in Mt. St. Peter1s Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary1s Church, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby or in honor of Mother Teresa, The Mission of Charity, 335 East 145th Street, Bronx, NY 10451 or through the funeral director.
