Frank William Papcin, aged 82, passed away on June 5, 2024, in Ocala, Florida. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, there's no way to describe Frank without saying that he was a good man but quite a character. If he was around, you couldn't miss him and his big happy laugh.
Franks earned an associate's degree in computer science from Norwalk Community College. He served as U.S. Army Paratrooper, a testament of his dedication to his country. His professional life was marked by a successful tenure as a Teamster driver for DiChello in Orange, CT. Later on, as a master plumber and general contractor he established F&P Contractors in Virginia Beach, a venture that defined his career until his retirement to Florida.
Frank had many hobbies, from riding his motorcycle to playing tournament-level chess as a member of the Virginia Chess Federation. When he was younger Frank rode with the Huns MC, Bridgeport. He rode his Harley until he was 79. He was also deeply involved in local government and politics, serving as a poll deputy and attending the NRC. Frank spent his retirement thrifting and having spirited debates on Facebook!
Frank is survived by his sons, Thomas Papcin and his wife Samara of Naugatuck, CT, and Christopher and his wife Jenna of Mystic, CT. His grandchildren Christian Papcin of Princeton, NJ, and Molly Papcin of Naugatuck, CT. He is also survived by his sister, Joan Bandanza of Trumbull, CT, Cousin Virginia Marinelli Nitti, Beth Evans of NJ and Arlene (Skip) Strom. While services will not be held, his memory will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
