Frieda Canelli Obituary

Frieda Canelli
Frieda R. Canelli, 100 years of age, of Lordship, passed away in her sleep on Sunday April 24, 2022 after a good long life.
Frieda was born on October 29, 1921. She was married to the late James V. Canelli. They bore two sons, Edward and William. Both sons predeceased Frieda, leaving 5 grandchildren. From Edward, who was married to Barbara, they had a son, little Eddy, who passed away. Ronald, married to Kerri, who have two boys, Quin and Colton; and Wendy, who was married to Larry, have three children, Tanner, Chloe, and Autumn. From Jim and Frieda's son, William, who was married to Dorothy, they had twin girls. Tricia is married to Eric Lowenbein and they have two boys, Aaron and Justin. Stacy is married to Bob Parisi, and they have a daughter, Caitlyn.
Frieda is survived by her 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Frieda was loved and respected by many who knew her. Her very good friend and neighbor, Tuck Colangelo, who is married to Barb Panzak, was always there for her.
Frieda's life was a real Cinderella story. She was Miss Connecticut in 1939 and competed in regional beauty pageants. She met Jim and got married just before Jim went off to WWII. She lived a hard life with Jim's family as he was overseas. Like most families growing up during the depression and WWII, life was challenging. Those challenges gave Frieda the life skills to overcome adversity. Frieda is an inspiration, a fighter, and a child of God. Her faith kept her strong. Her faith kept her at peace when the daily aches and pains pushed her limits. She loved her neighbors as the Bible commands, she forgave those who needed to be forgiven, and she fought the good fight, she finished the race and she kept the faith. The Cinderella story ends with Frieda becoming a princess in the kingdom of God when she became a daughter and an heir to the Living God.
Frieda gave to charities that supported veterans and charities that supported animals.
Frieda lived in her home for over 70 years, where she passed away. She was not alone. Frieda was a good neighbor and friend and will be missed by many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).
