George Wolf Obituary

George Wolf
September 2, 2025
Attorney George Wolf of Trumbull, Connecticut, died on September 2, 2025. He lived in Trumbull, together with his wife, Karen, for over 64 years. George was the son of the late Morris and Sophie Wolf. He was raised in the north end of Bridgeport, where he attended Madison Grammar School and graduated from Central High School. He went on to attend the University of Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in government. Thereafter, he attended Boston University School of Law, where he received his LLB degree. He then practiced law for 52 years, maintaining offices in Bridgeport, Oxford, and, in later years, Trumbull. Attorney Wolf was approved to appear before the Federal District Court, as well as the Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. George was an army veteran, having served in the quarter master and judge advocate's office, in both Germany and France, from 1954 through 1956.
George was active in the Town of Trumbull's affairs, having served as a member of its Town Council, as well as the town's Planning and Gaming Commission. He was also a past President of Trumbull's Kiwanis chapter and President of the Fairchild Memorial Library. In later years, he became a member of the Trumbull Rotary. He served as the past President of the International Institute of Connecticut and served on its Board of Directors. George particularly found the International Institute gratifying in its service, having assisted thousands of individuals through the process of becoming American citizens.
Attorney Wolf and his wife, Karen, were married for 64 years. They were avid hikers, who enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire as well as the Swiss Alps. They were also members of the Appalachian Mountain Club, enjoying the camaraderie of the numerous friends made at Three Mile Island during their years on Lake Winnipesaukee.
George is survived by his loving wife, Karen Judith, his son, Daniel Elias, and his wife, Shari Lisa. He was pre-deceased by his son, Adam Fields (husband to Pam Rose). He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Theodore Atticus, Henry James, Olivia Annabelle, Haley Justine, and Morgan Kelsey. He also leaves behind his great-grandson, Oliver Adam.
George was a kind and loving man with great humor. He enjoyed all that life offered. He will be missed.
There will be a graveside burial for the family.

Danny and Karen, sorry to hear of your loss. Georege was a good guy. Brings back memories of babysitting for you, Danny, and Adam, including giving you and Adam baths, and moving your lawn when I was a teen, long ago. Cherish your memories.
