Gilbert Mello Obituary

MELLO Gilbert J. Mello, age 82 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 59 years to Grace Martino Mello, died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at St. Vincent's Medical Center Bridgeport. Mr. Mello was born in Fall River, Mass. and was an area resident most of his life. He was retired from the Purchasing Department for the Vitramon Co. Gilbert and also was a milkman for many years throughout the Bridgeport area. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Teamsters Union. He will always be remembered for his wit and his jokes. He was a master craftsman who always was building. He always made toys for any new member of his family especially wood carved banks. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife, Grace, include two loving daughters, Christine Mello of California and Linda Mello of North Carolina; his devoted granddaughter, Melissa Burmeister; and his great-grandson, Cody Burmeister. He was predeceased by a son, Gary Mello and two sisters, Mary Sidoti and Edy Mello. Friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport and at 10 a.m. in St. Andrews Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
