Harold Goad

GOAD Harold "Red" Goad, age 73, of Shelton entered into rest on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Caryn (Kaiser) Goad. Red was born in Derby on September 12, 1937 son of the late Wilfred and Isabella (Weed) Goad and was a lifelong Shelton resident. Red was an English teacher at Helen Keller Middle School in Easton for 34 years, retiring in 2005. He was a coach in Shelton for many sports especially the ones that his children participated in. He recently received the Alumni Award at the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys and Girls Club. Red was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of St. Joseph's Church in Shelton. He enjoyed his dog, Dusty. Red is the loving father of George Goad and his wife, Nicole and Edward Goad and his fianc�, Rachel Finley. He was the loving grandfather of Anna Goad. He also leaves his mother and father-in-law, Dr. Howard Kaiser and Mrs. Frances Kaiser; and sister-in-law, Laura Kaiser. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. His funeral will leave the funeral home on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. His burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
