As I get older, I appreciate what a good man and great teacher Mr. Goad was. That I'm thinking of him all these years later, and came here to this page, says so much. The ripples he sent into the world are very wide. x

So many fond memories of Red. Sitting with him at Shelton Football games and knowing he was going to have very strong opinions. Having him coach our son Josh in t-ball with such patience for young players. As well as being a neighbor in the White Hills community.
Missed by many but remembered so well.

Mr. Goad was the most influential teacher I have ever had in my entire academic career. He changed my life and was a mentor and teacher who infused his students with his passion and energy.
I had the pleasure of working for him on 8th grade government, as well as taking his English class. The one quote he made us memorize was, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye." Mr. Goad had a heart of gold and truly touched my life. My thoughts, prayers, and blessings are with him and his family.

I always enjoyed being with and seeing Red. We sat together through many Shelton High football games and yes his opinion was heard by many. He touched the lives of thousands over the years and he will be missed by so many.

To the family of Mr Goad:
Your father/husband/grandfather was my teacher at Helen Keller Middle School. He made a difference in our young lives. He was one of the Great Teachers, who stand out in your mind when you look back at your school days. Mr. Goad had a specific agenda in mind for his English class curriculum. He wanted to really teach us good grammar. He really helped us to learn it thoroughly. Mr. Goad had an awesome smile... We were very blessed to have him as our teacher.
My prayers are with you. He lived a life that made a big difference in moulding the youth that he taught.
For that, we will ever be in debt to him. May the good Lord welcome him with open, loving arms into eternal rest. Rest in peace Mr. Goad...
One of your many pupils,
