Helen Demestihas Obituary
Helen Demestihas, age 87, of Shelton, the beloved wife of the late Menelaos Demestihas, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, May 2, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kouvalata, Kefallonia in 1928. She married Menelaos in 1953. They had 4 children, Evangelos, Anthy, Despina and Pantelis. She was still actively sewing and knitting and was very involved in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She especially enjoyed monthly bus trips to the casino with her friends. She leaves behind an amazing family legacy. Her oldest son, Dr. Evangelos Demestihas and his wife Joyce and their 4 children and 2 grandchildren; Dr.'s Menelaos and Cindy Demestihas and daughter Persephone, Alexandros and Kelly Demestihas and son Evangelos, Pericles and Alison Demestihas, and Eleni Demestihas. Her oldest daughter, Dr. Anthy Demestihas, her youngest daughter, Dr. Despina Dalton and her husband Shawn and their 3 children, Kathryn, Harrison and Alexander; her youngest son, Pantelis Demestihas and his wife Faye and their 2 children, Eleni and Angelika. Friends are invited to attend funeral on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:30AM DIRECTLY in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport CT 06606 or to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport CT 06604, in memory of Helen.
