Henry Elstein Obituary

Henry Elstein
1934 - 2021
Elstein – Henry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away of natural causes on August 18th, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was 87.
Born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Henry studied at Yale University and Yale Law School. During law school, Henry married his longtime childhood sweetheart, Sandra Horn. Sandra and Henry enjoyed a long, fruitful marriage of 55 years until Sandra's passing in 2014. Together, Henry and Sandra took great joy in raising their three children, Deborah Lemen, Bruce (Carol) Elstein, and Kim (Thomas) Atkinson, and their grandchildren, Andrew and Julia Elstein.
Henry was a well-respected and trusted advisor to many as an attorney and partner at Magilnick, Simko, & Elstein before continuing his thriving practice at Elstein and Elstein – the firm he launched with his son, Bruce.
To all who knew Henry, he was a life-long learner, devout Yankees fan, witty joke teller, and certified Chevaliers du Tastevin. He was an experienced traveler having traversed many miles across the European continent. Henry had a trained ear for classical music, would frequently immerse himself in a good book, and was never far from his copy of the Constitution. Above all, Henry loved discussing world events over a shared meal with friends and family.
Henry is survived by his children, grandchildren, sister Abby Schine, loving companion Sara-Marie Otey, and other extended family members whom he held near and dear. Henry was predeceased by his wife Sandra, son-in-law Don Lemen, and his parents, Sam and Esther Elstein.
Henry will be deeply missed and forever in the hearts of his family and friends. A funeral will be held at Abraham Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Henry's memory to Parkinson's Foundation, www.parkinson.org.
