Howard Blewett Obituary

Howard W. Blewett Jr.
Howard W. Blewett, Jr., age 86, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor "Dee" (Farrell) Blewett, his devoted partner of 58 years. Born in Derby, Connecticut, on October 20, 1939, he was the son of the late Howard W. Blewett, Sr. and Marjorie (Estabrook) Blewett.
After graduating from Ansonia High School, Howard proudly joined the United States Air Force at just seventeen years old. He carried great pride in his time of service and later delighted in sharing stories from those years with his grandchildren, who always loved hearing about his adventures. Following his discharge, Howard became co-owner of Superb Tool and Die Company in Milford, where he dedicated 37 years of hard work, leadership, and craftsmanship. His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family.
Howard had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, fishing, and especially gardening. Each summer, family, friends, and neighbors looked forward to the abundance of tomatoes from his garden, which he was always eager to share. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he played and followed many sports over the years and loved passing along those skills to his children and grandchildren- patiently teaching them to ski, golf, bowl, and play softball. He characterized himself as the original Mets fan.
He cherished the quiet rhythms of everyday life: reading the Sunday paper, taking peaceful naps in his reclining chair on warm afternoons in the shade, and spending unhurried time with those he loved. Over the years, he devoted much of his love to many loyal Golden Retrievers and fondly reminisced about his last dog, "Bailey boy". Whether watching a ball game, enjoying a classic cowboy movie, or simply sitting together in comfortable silence, one hand usually resting on a dog's head, Howard treasured the moments that brought his family close.
More than anything, Howard will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose steady presence, warm stories, and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
In addition to his devoted wife, Dee, he is survived by his three loving daughters, Jennifer Martin, Kathleen Eggers (Peter), and Allison Young (Kevin); his sister, Darlene Whatley (Jim); two brothers, Robert Blewett (Terri) and Ronald Blewett; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Madeline and Molly Martin, Brianna and Caroline Eggers, and Leo, Finn, and Nora Young. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, both from his beloved siblings and from the extended Farrell clan, who will remember him fondly.
Howard's greatest pride and joy was always his family. He lived a life defined by quiet strength, generosity, and an unwavering love for those around him. His stories, laughter, steady guidance, and the simple traditions he cherished will live on in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
All are invited to join the family in a Celebration of Howard's Life on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Nichols United Methodist Church, 35 Shelton Rd., Trumbull. Arrangements in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

I have fond memories of Mr. And Mrs. Blewett.
My father, John Macey worked at Superb Tool for many years. Ever time my father needed a brake he would take off time from the shop. Then a few months later, Mr. Blewett would knock on the door and tell "Mace " as he was known, time to come back. Mace would return to the shop! Mrs. Blewett found out I was getting married, and was so generous with kitchen utensils
and gadgets! To this day I use her cupcake pan and sheet pan!
My sincere condolence to the family, May Howard rest in peace and watch over his family from heaven, Jo-Ann Macey & Family
