James Fry Obituary

Fry, James Harry
James Harry Fry, age 71, of Monroe, devoted husband of Elaine Capozzi Fry, died peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on June 26, 1942, he was a son of the late George and Eleanor Christy Fry. Jim was a retired supervisor for Bridgeport Fittings with over 15 years of dedicated service. Always supporting his children while they were growing up, Jim was very involved in Monroe Pop Warner Football and Monroe Little League. A member of the Pequonnock Yacht Club and M.O.V.E. Yacht club, he had a passion and love for spending time on his boat and loved to be out on the water. But above all, he was at his best when spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters, who were the loves of his life. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. In addition to his devoted wife of 48 years, Elaine, survivors include three loving children, two sons, Anthony Fry and Laura D'Angelo and her daughter Brittany Fracassini , Jeffrey Fry and a daughter, Melissa Fry Yerrington all of Monroe, two cherished and adored granddaughters, Emily and Lily; a sister, Louise Cosgrove of Stratford and her children, Ellie, Laura, Eric, Marc and Colleen; a brother, Raymond Fry of Stratford and his children, Aaron, Dana, Patti and Amy; sisters-in-law, Deborah Mancini and her husband John and their daughter Morgan and Donna Capozzi all of Bridgeport. He was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, who loved Jim and considered him a son, Anthony and Theresa Capozzi, sister-in-law, Joanna Fry and an infant niece, Jessica Mancini. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. To light a virtual candle, visit us at www.abriola.com.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my old friend, Jimmy "Fry Boy" Fry. I'm sure I write on behalf of not only myself, but my two brothers - Jim & Joe, and all of Jimmy's old friends from Bridgeport's East Side where he grew up on Steuben Street, his Bullard Havens Tech classmates, as well as his old buddies in the Bridgeport East Enders' Alumni Association (www.east-enders.itgo.com) when I write that "Fry Boy" will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him "back-in-the-day." Thankfully we got to see Jimmy at last June's East Enders' Summer Smash at the Captain's Cove. Many, many fond memories of memorable times spent with a great guy. My thoughts and prayers are with Elaine and the family during this time of sorrow. I will have Jimmy's name placed in the East Enders' web site REMEMBRANCE section.

Elaine and Family:

The years have passed, but our memories remain. I have this favorite poem which will let you know how I feel.

A BRIDGE CALLED LOVE

It takes us back to brighter years,
to happier sunlight days
and to precious moments
that will be with us always.
And these fond recollections
are treasured in the heart
to bring us always close to those
from whom we had to part.

There is a bridge of memories
from earth to HEAVEN above...
It keeps our dear ones near us.

It's the bridge we call LOVE.

With all my love to all GOD Bless
