James Geanuracos Obituary

James L. Geanuracos, age 91, of Easton, beloved husband of the late Mary (Greco) Geanuracos, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Bridgeport to the late Louis and Anna (Koutrakos) Geanuracos. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Jim was raised in a large, close Greek family. When he was young, he excelled at baking and worked at the family's business, Hellenic Bakery. He continued to prepare fabulous baked goods for family and friends until his recent illness. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Time spent with his family was his priority in life. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft as a foreman.

Survivors include two beloved children, Ann Geanuracos and her husband, John Frascone of Danbury and Stanley Geanuracos and his wife, Mirella, of Easton; two cherished grandchildren, Daniella and James Geanuracos; one sister, Theresa Nardi of NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was also honorary grandfather to Daniel, Giulia, Frankie, Lidia, Claudia, Ali and Bijan. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Louis; two sisters, Florence Nevers and Stella Nardi; and three brothers, Charles, George and Constantine "Gus" Geanuracos.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank our cousins, Louie Geanuracos and Annie Williams along with Jim's caregiver, Fatima, for the outstanding and compassionate care they gave to Dad over the last few years. We are forever grateful!

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 9 am at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 10 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Avenue, Bridgeport with Rev. Georgios Livaditis officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm. Please visit www.pisteyfuneralhome.com to share condolences online.

Sincere and heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Jim's
family. With love, Dimitra Geanuracos Vender Jim's
first cousin...we spent many very happy times together. He was a lot of fun and I'd like to think of him with his wonderful wife, Mary, his brothers and sisters...especially Charlie in heaven...laughing as they so often did
on earth. He will be missed.
