WATERBURY- It is with profound sadness that the family of James A. Miko II, age 62, of Waterbury, formerly of Stratford, CT, shares the news of his unexpected passing on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at home.
James was born on August 30, 1963, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of the late James A. Miko and Lynn A. (Carre) Miko. He grew up in Stratford, where he spent most of his adult life and formed many lasting memories with family and friends. A dedicated worker, he held positions within the Parks and Recreation and Sewage Treatment plant in Stratford. For the past 16 years, he called Waterbury home, bringing joy to those around him. He was a man of many passions. He found joy in playing video games, watching anime, playing the guitar and collecting model trains. Sundays were particularly special to him, marked by cherished dinners with his brother, where laughter and stories filled the air. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, may he rest in peace, forever remembered in our hearts.
Left to honor his legacy and memory are his brother, Geoffrey Miko of Oakville, his niece, Brandy Dominguez of Glendale, Arizona, and his nephews; Austin Miko of Oakville and Jared Miko of Naugatuck. He also leaves behind many cousins, extended family and friends.
All services for Mr. Miko will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
