Jean Crowther Sosnoski of Colchester, and formerly of Stratford, CT, passed away on January 18, 2026. She was 93 years old. Jean was born in Providence, RI, on November 4, 1932. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Sargeant) Crowther. Jean married Bernard Sosnoski on February 5, 1955, in Stratford, CT. The couple settled in Stratford, where she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and creating a warm, steady household. In later years, she returned to the workforce, working as a bookkeeper. Jean and Bernie retired to Colchester to be closer to family members. She was an avid book reader, and found great joy in cross-stitch, knitting and crochet. Jean and Bernie were members of the Stratford United Methodist Church, and later of the Westchester Congregational Church in Colchester and the Colchester Senior Center. After 60 years of marriage, Bernard predeceased Jean on October 7, 2015. Jean leaves behind her two children, David Sosnoski and his wife, Maryalice of Sterling, MA, and Robert Sosnoski and his wife, Melissa of Colchester; her five grandchildren, Jacqueline Aldous and her husband, Corey, Heather Sosnoski, Colleen Sosnoski and her fiancé, Dylan Morris, Brian Sosnoski, Jason Sosnoski and his wife, Lillian; and numerous extended family members and friends. She will be sadly missed, but remembered with love by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on March 6th, at 11:00 am at the Westchester Congregational Church, 98 Cemetery Rd., Colchester. Burial will be private in the State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown.
