Jeffrey Gleit Obituary
Jeffrey A. Gleit, age 58 of Waterford, CT passed away on Saturday October 11th, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeffrey was born in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Mollie and the late Gerald Gleit. He graduated from Central High School and went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut with a degree in English. He worked as an editor at the IEEE and Plenum Publishing. He then received a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and went on to work for J&J, Pfizer, and Yale University. Jeff was a true lover of the arts, and especially passionate about music. His knowledge of all types of music, with a special love for Bob Dylan, was legendary to all those who knew him. The only thing stronger than his passion for music was his love for family and friends. He is survived by his wife Kim Haflich Gleit, his children Adrienne and Samuel Gleit, his sisters, Leslie Soifer and her husband Neil, Hollis Boyle and her husband Chuck. Jeff was blessed with a strong family and was so proud of his children and the adults they have become. Services will take place on Tuesday October 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, with internment following at Loyalty Cemetery on Burroughs Road in Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I was a colleague of his at Pfizer. I lost my Mom to lymphoma in 2005 and participate in the Light the Night Walk every year in her memory. I will continue to fundraise to help find a cure in his memory as well.

My deepest sympathy to the Gleit family. I was so very sad to hear of his passing. Jeff always found a way to look on the positive side of life and that is how we remember him. He was truly very, very proud of his children and spoke of them often while working at Yale. Know that you are in our thoughts.

I extend my sincerest sympathy to the Gleit family. Jeff and I were study hall buddies in Central, but spent more time laughing than studying. He was truly a great guy, and I was lucky to call him my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeff and his family during this difficult time, I was very upset to hear of his passing. I have always adored Jeff and enjoyed taking care of him. He always had a sense of humor no matter how tough and challenging things got. To his family, stay strong, and know any of us on NP11 will always be there if you ever need us.

I'll always have the fondest memories of Jeff. From the first time I met him (I interviewed him and later hired him for his first job at Pfizer), and including the time he reported to me, and then as he moved into other positions. His cheerful and optimistic attitude were always present. Jeff will surely be missed by all who knew him. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
