Jeffrey Rosenberg Obituary

Rosenberg, Jeffrey
Jeffrey Rosenberg, a loving, caring, compassionate, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Madison on Tuesday. Jeff was the beloved husband of Pamela Davis Rosenberg, his best friend. His memory will live on through the enormous impact he had on the growth and development of his family members and in the hearts of all people touched by his wisdom during his life. Jeff was a graduate of Hunter College of the City University of New York, Lehman College, Fordham University, and Quinnipiac University School of Law. As an attorney and in all aspects of his life, Jeff committed himself to protecting the rights of others and those who required a loud and powerful voice. As a union representative for the Connecticut Education Association for 29 years, Jeff worked tirelessly to advocate for Connecticut's public school teachers and more recently traveled to Massachusetts to represent teachers for the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Additionally, Jeff was appointed by the Governor of Connecticut as an Employee Advocate Arbitrator for the State Board of Mediation and Arbitration and served as an arbitrator for teacher contract negotiations for the State Department of Education. Throughout their 28 years in Madison, Jeff and Pam loved spending their time in the sun on the town beaches, which Jeff helped to develop as Chairman of the Madison Beach and Recreation Commission. Jeff also served the Town of Madison as a member of the Police and Fire Pension Boards. Jeff was a passionate sports fan, spending 15 years coaching his sons' various baseball teams and celebrating the successes of the Yankees, Giants, and UConn Huskies with his family. He also became an avid golfer, improving his game in his many rounds at the Madison Country Club. Jeff's memory lives on through his children Mark Rosenberg, of Madison, Aaron Rosenberg, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Adam and Samantha Rosenberg of Cheshire, Bonni Rosenberg Beloin of Bethany; his five grandchildren; and his father-in-law Frohman Davis of Hillsboro Beach, Florida.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Temple Beth Tikvah, 196 Durham Road, Madison, where the Rosenbergs have been members for almost 30 years. I was heartbroken to learn of Jeff's passing. Carl and I enjoyed visiting with he and Pam at a recent wedding, and as always picked up where we left off chatting about our kids when then were young. We have so many fond memories of Jeff, and our hearts go out to Pam, Aaron and Mark. Carol and Carl Iberger

Our whole family is just devastated by the news. Jeff,Judy,Emily and I were the 4 (of 27) Rosenberg first cousins who hung around at family events in the 1950's because we were all about the same age. To me, he'll always be a kid with a Yankees cap, demanding thatDave play catch with him (which Dave happily did).
I haven't seen him in the last few years although we did see Aaron and our kids are in touch via Facebook.
But we are thinking of all of you and share your loss.

Jeff was a tremendous help to our association when we were in between Uniserve representatives. In addition to being confident and very knowledgeable about contracts and education, Jeff was very supportive of me at the beginning of my first year as president of the Education Association of Cheshire. Jeff never tired of advocating for teachers' rights and he was a pleasure to know. I am shocked and saddened by the loss of this wonderful gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
