Jerome "Jerry" W. Kessel, 77 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Wheaton, IL to the late Raymond and Ella (Rawie) Kessel and was a longtime CT area resident.
Jerry was in ROTC and earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and then became an Army Officer. He went on to earn his M.B.A. from Northwestern University, and then a Master's Degree in Education from Fairfield University.
In addition to the love of his life Ricki Reiner, Jerry is survived by his cherished daughters, Kathryn Kessel of Manhattan, Sally Kessel Allen of Brentwood, NH and the late Cindy Kessel Hollingsworth. He will be missed by his five favorite grandsons: Carson, Grant and Brady Hollingsworth, and Ryan and Casey Allen; as well as his sister, Rev. Patricia Rae Kessel and sons-in-law, Pete Allen and Charles Hollingsworth. Anyone who knew Jerry will remember his generosity, goodness, advice (unsolicited or solicited), wit and wisdom.
Friends may greet his family on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. Interment will be private.
