Joan Corno Obituary

CORNO Joan A. Corno, age 70, of Seymour, entered into rest Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Griffin Hospital, Derby. Joan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., January 9, 1938, daughter of the late Ralpand Josephine Della Donne Corno and was a Bridgeport resident for most of her life before moving to Seymour several years ago. She was an investigator for the State of Connecticut's Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities for many years before her retirement. She was a devoted volunteer to ALATEEN. Joan was the mother of Daniel Froilan, and his wife, Lydia, JoAnn Adams and her husband, John, Wilford Froilan, and his wife, Christina, Richard Davila, Jr., and Ralph Davila and his wife, Kristen. She was the sister of Ralph Corno, Jr., Grace Ledonne, and Patricia Giles. She was the grandmother of Jinelle, Sasha, Johnna, Rebecca, Gina, Melissa, Richard, Daniel, Jonathan, and Maya; great-grandmother of Kiersten; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. On Friday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2139 Silas Dean Highway, Suite 208, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-2339. joan.. wow i cant believe you are gone.. it is so hard to believe i know now that you and connie mac are together and i know you are happy and at peace.. i really am going to miss you you were a great listener and knew how to tell everybody right where it was at and i am going to miss that about you. things are going to be different now but you will forever be in my heart i love you joan

I will miss you so much Joan ,you were there for my girls in Alateen and then for my son , I got to know you better when we shared our weekends at CAWW. We had a great time on those weekend and they will be times never forgotten. I know you are at peace now . my prayers to your family.
