Joan Dwyer
Joan Dwyer, age 73, of Shelton, entered into rest on Saturday, July 3, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She was the devoted wife and soulmate of her true love, Diamond Jim, the late James E. Dwyer Jr. Joan was born in Bridgeport on September 25, 1947, daughter of the late Louis and Edna Thomas, and she was a lifelong Shelton resident, spending her winters in Florida. She is survived by her son David Dwyer of Florida, two sisters, Deb Faulkner and her husband Bruce, and Carolyn Perreault and her husband Marquis, her sister-in-law Patti Lesko and her husband Vinny, and a plethora of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Marlene Sym. The family would like to thank the staff at Milford Hospital for all of the care and compassion they showed toward Joan during her frequent stays there. Friends may call at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Bridgeport.
