REDMAN, Joan Redman, age 87, of Trumbull, CT, passed away October 11, 2023. She was the devoted wife for 66 years of David Redman, who passed away on October 6, 2023. Joan was born in Hull, East Yorkshire, England.
She was employed at an Accountant's office before working for the General Post Office of the United Kingdom as a Telephonist. Joan was a Telephonist in Bridlington and Hull from 1953 to 1964, a job which she enjoyed but not as much as being mother to her two children and nana to her three grandchildren. Joan and David made it a priority to attend every milestone event in their children's and grandchildren's lives, including birthdays, concerts, recitals, and graduations.
Joan enjoyed traveling all over the world with David but treasured their trips back to England the most, after their move to the United States in 1966. She also loved spending time at the family lakeside cabin in Vermont and was an accomplished bowler, earning countless trophies in a local league. Joan also enjoyed swimming in their pool especially with family.
Her loving family includes her husband, David (deceased), her son Andrew (deceased), her daughter Kimberley Spath and her husband Peter Spath Jr., her granddaughters Amanda Redman and Emiley Spath and grandson Charles Spath. She was predeceased by her parents, sister, and brother in England.
Friends and family are invited to attend Joan and David's joint funeral services on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT, with the Very Reverend Dr. Henry L. Thompson officiating. Interment in Long Hill Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
