Joanne Piel Obituary
Piel, Joanne Dobitas Piel age 60, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Joanne was born on February 5, 1953 in Bridgeport and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Kuchta Dobitas. Joanne was employed by Bridgeport Hospital in the Environmental Services Department for 25 years. She enjoyed cruises, knitting and crocheting and bus trips to the casino. Joanne was an avid reader, a hard worker and cherished her grandchildren. Joanne is survived by her son George S. Piel and wife Tamy of Marlborough, CT., one daughter Jennifer L. Piel of Stratford, six grandchildren, Zachary, Alexandra, Madison, John, Anielia and Jessica, one great granddaughter Maddison, three brothers, William Dobitas and wife Debra of Stratford, Donald Dobitas and wife Catherine of New York and Lawrence Dobitas and Laurel May of Trumbull, one sister Diane Wirtemburg and husband Joseph of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. Joanne was also predeceased by her son-in-law John L. Goduto. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 9:30 AM in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home 2220 Main Street Stratford and at 10:30 AM in St. James Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Lynch. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home on Monday from 5-8 PM. I knew Joanne from years ago in school and Joanne lived right down the street from where I lived. Joanne was always sweet, kind, had a great smile, and the greatest personality! Rest in Peace Joanne.

To Jennifer, George and all of the Dobitas family,
