Joanne Viselli-Wheeler, 54, of Ansonia, entered eternal rest after a long battle with kidney disease on September 4, 2020 in Bridgeport, CT.
Joanne was born on February 23, 1966 in Bridgeport, CT to Michael and Stella Viselli and was a lifelong CT resident.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Mark Wheeler; sister, Judy Hernandez; brother, Mike Viselli; her children, Jessica, Jennifer, Jonathon Viselli and Lizzy Betts; and her 8 grandchildren, Jovonnie, Julianna, Juliette, Brianna, Jessalyn, Matilda, Angus and Jayce. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Stella; and her sister, Mary Ellen Warner.
A memorial is scheduled for Saturday September 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Dennis and D'Arcy Funeral Home, 2611 Main St., Stratford, CT. To offer the family online Condolences, please visit

I am so surprised and so sorry for the loss of a friend. Joanne was a fun loving, sensible, caring girl. She was one of the four musketeers of the Bridgeport Twins Club. We took enjoyable trips together we will always remember her smile. We will all miss her very much. She was a great friend and a wonderful person. With our deepest condolences. May you receive your wings when you arrive in heaven. We love you.

My biological mother was a selfless person. She lived, often in poverty to care for others. She loved her children, grandchildren, family and husband Mark Wheeler. She loved to travel and had a bit of a wild spirit. She gave me the gift of life and the opportunity for a better one. I always told her how grateful I was for that courageous act, giving up her first born for a better life.
May she fly high and sing the wrong lyrics to Madonna songs with the angels. Just joking but Megan knows.
I will always love and cherish you in my heart for the rest of my days. I have so many memories to hold in my heart.

Mom, there are soooo many things I wanna say that I wish I could say to you... I wanna thank you for everything you did for me and Jayce we are going to miss you tremendously I don't know if I'm gonna be able to stay strong without you here but I know your watching over me I'm trying sooo hard not to fall apart you left us tooo soon i never realized how young you were when MEMA passed now i know i am the same age Judy was when MEMA passed I'm sorry for anything i ever did to you in life that didn't make you proud I'm sorry for all the times i disappointed you or made you mad or hurt you i miss you soooo much i would give anything to have one more normal day with you to just hug you and tell you how much me and JAYCE love you and how much we needed you but i am soooo grateful your no longer suffering or in pain i just wish i didn't take the time i had With you for granted i just thought i would have had Atleast 20 more years i wanted you to be there when JAYCE graduated high school or his first date or the kids graduating high school and college i will never let them forget you. i know you loved me and Jayce and I'm gonna do everything in my power to try and make you proud of me I'm gonna teach JAYCE all the life lessons you taught me please watch over us always.
