John MacEwan Obituary

John J. "Jack" MacEwan
John "Jack" J. MacEwan, age 89 passed away, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Avon Health Care. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Louis and Elizabeth Houston MacEwan. He was a resident of Fairfield most of his life and more recently lived in Bethel. Jack was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Korean War and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired from United Illuminating as a line foreman after 35 years of service. Survivors include his loving children, son Thomas L. MacEwan of Florida, daughters, Karen A. Carlson and her husband Roger of Georgia, and Gail E. Tevnan and her husband Brian of Farmington, his sister Carol Brown of Bridgeport, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Myla Magee. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:30am in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in OakLawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Monday 5-7pm and Tuesday morning 10:30am – 11:30am at the funeral home.
