John Michael Semonich, Jr.
John Michael Semonich, Jr., 79, of Rocky Hill, passed away at Hartford Hospital on March 26 after a short illness. Born on September 16, 1938 in Blakely, PA to the late John M. and Johanna Luchansky Semonich, Sr. After proudly serving his country for three years as a US Marine, John transferred to the Marine Air Reserve. After retiring from Data Products of New England as a supervisor, he was able to hone in on his bowling skills. He was a member of several different bowling leagues over the years and could be found at the bowling alley four or five nights a week. He was also a Yankees fan and enjoyed watching their games.
John will be remembered by his children and their spouses, Jo-Ann and Kurt Swanson of Wethersfield, Debora Semonich and Russell Bacon of Shelton, Michael and Lynette Semonich of Torrington, Richard Koenig of Winsted, and John Semonich of Bethlehem, PA; and grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Emma, Connor, Anya, Richard, Douglas, Stacy, John, Timothy, Ryan, Emily, and Matthew. He was predeceased by his sisters, Leona Craw and Theresa Mills.
Friends are invited to visit with John's family at BEECHER & BENNETT-FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden on Monday, April 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service celebrating his life will take place on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Burial with Military Honors in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
