Joseph Galluzzo Obituary

Joseph "Jay" Galluzzo
Joseph "Jay" Galluzzo, age 60, of Fairfield, CT, died peacefully at home in the loving embrace of his devoted family on August 27, 2025, after a courageous 20-month battle with glioblastoma.
Jay was warm, kind, open-hearted, and made friends with everyone he met. His passions included skiing, golf, live music, hiking, travel, and all sports, but above all, he loved his family and friends. Jay loved mountains, music, and living in the moment. If you were having a conversation with Jay - he made you feel like you were the only person in the room.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Sarah, and their two children, Domenick and Samantha. He is also survived by a large and loving extended family and a legion of friends. He was a best friend and brother to Beth Luongo and Amy Nakano, and a cherished son to Joann and Domenick Galluzzo. He was "Uncle Jay" to a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Jay built a long and respected career as a Sales Director. Known for his integrity, he defied the typical "sales guy" stereotype-he was trusted, straightforward, and always authentic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, followed by burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Jay was an eternal optimist. He would want to be remembered not with sadness, but with joy. So, when you think of him, remember: "Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile."
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kim's Hope and Head for the Cure, two organizations dedicated to glioblastoma research.

Sarah, Dom and Samantha

Mary, Grace and I are so sorry to hear that Jay has passed. Though we had not spent a great deal of time with or around Jay, you could tell that he was a genuine soul who had his priorities very much on target. I had several chats with him during his battle and his treatments and he still maintained all the qualities that made him the great guy that he was. It´s always difficult to lose someone but it´s especially difficult when we lose one of the truly good ones. Jay will be missed but he´ll also be remembered fondly. Our deepest sympathies to you guys.

My thoughts are with all of the members of Jay's family. Jay was one of the greatest people. I am blown away by the unfairness of his passing. I know life isn't fair and for some reason this seems particularly brutal.

I am without words to express the deep sadness i felt when I learned of Jay's passing. Jay smile and laughter was infectious. I had the great pleasure to work with Jay at the Peppermill. We became good friends. Jay was one of the Good Guys- taken away way too soon.
The Galluzzo family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Mr.and Mrs. Galluzzo, Amy, Beth, Sarah and Family,
I just called Mom and I was so sad to hear about Jay's passing. We will always remember fondly the fun times in Wildwood, the family outings and Jay's summers--helping Dad with the house--it was like having another brother. I am so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace. Jen and the Sabo Family

Even though I am older than Jay, I remember him as my brother Henry 's best friend growing up in Fairfield. "Like a steam locomotive rolling down the track, he's gone, gone, gone and nothings going to bring back, he's gone." Rest in peace.
