Joseph Pillo Obituary
Joseph Charles Pillo, Jr, age 95, of Milford, CT, beloved husband and happily married to Jadwiga "Hattie" Pillo for over 65 years, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Milford Health Care Center. Mr. Pillo was born in Bridgeport, CT on September 7, 1917 to the late Joseph C. Pillo Sr and Carmella Donofrio Pillo. Mr. Pillo served our country in the Navy-Air force during WWII. He worked at General Electric for 35 years, was a parishioner of St. Mary Church and a member of the Milford Senior Center for over 30 years. He was active in the Men's Club and known for his famous spaghetti dinners. He enjoyed the pool room at the Senior Center and was a talented woodworker. He was a loving, caring father and grandfather. Survivors include his children: Donald J. Pillo of Milford, Pamela Skudlarek (Stephen 'Jack') of Milford and John C. Pillo (Jean) of Woodstock, CT, a sister; Helen Gaffney, seven grandchildren; Brian (Sandy) Pillo, Joseph Pillo (Katina Marone), Sheryl (Seth) Cohen and Darren Pillo (Vicky Coscia), Stephen Skudlarek III, and Joshua and Jacqueline Pillo, five great-grandchildren; Ella, Tessa and Sophie Cohen and Boden and Cameron Pillo, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pillo is pre-deceased by his brother Leonard Pillo and sisters; Millie Testani, Rose Pillo and Gertrude Carbone. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday night (TODAY) from 4-7PM in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning DIRECTLY in St. Mary's Church at 10:30AM. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.
