Joy DuBail Obituary

DuBail, Joy
Joy DuBail age 72 wife of Arnold H. DuBail of Monroe passed peacefully on July 13th surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. Born January 27, 1941 to the late Ray A. MacDonald and Thelma Curtis MacDonald. Joy grew up in Fairfield and was a resident of Monroe for the last 45 years. She worked in the Monroe school system as an educational aide in the 1970s and 80s and spent 17 years working for the Trumbull board of Education in pupil services until her retirement.
Joy was the kindest and loving of souls who's greatest love was for God and family. She was known for being a selfless giving woman who always had time for those in need. She was an integral and active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church on the Green in Monroe. She enthusiastically led St. Peter's youth group for 13 years, was a part of the Episcopal Church Women's group (ECW), church choir and any church event or activity that came along. Her passion and infectious smile made anything she was involved in a success. She was also very energetically involved in Relay for Life for the past 9 years and was a member of Beacon Hill women's bible study. She took much happiness and pride in being an essential part of her grandchildren's lives and also loved to travel, whether it was across town or across the world.
Joy leaves behind a legacy of giving that touched all she came in contact with. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Arnold, her 3 children Mark DuBail of Newtown, Chris DuBail of Greenville SC, Dawn Laughlin of Monroe and her husband John, grandchildren Lauren, Douglas and Nathaniel Bond, and Emily Laughlin of Monroe, sisters Janet Spinning and Judy Hamilton, brother Ray MacDonald and Wife Michelle, sister in law Christine Bennett and husband Thomas, brother in law Ronald DuBail and wife Martha as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by a brother Robert MacDonald and nephews David Spinning and Wayne DuBail.
A many special thanks to all the caregivers we have encountered over the past year. Including Oncology Associates and Bridgeport Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held Friday July 19th at 5:00 PM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on the Green 175 Old Tannery Road Monroe. Friends may visit on Tuesday July 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike Monroe.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Peter's Memorial Fund. St Peter's Episcopal Church 175 Old Tannery Rd, Monroe, CT 06468.

To Joy's family-Joy was an amazing source of joy and support to my dad, Warren, who was her cousin in NH. When the "cousins", as he called them, would come for a visit, he was delighted and always amazed at how much they would talk and laugh! And Joy never failed to send him a cheerful note even as she was dealing with her own illness. I got to talk with her at his recent memorial and she continued to be caring of our family. We are truly sorry for this huge loss.

Dear Arnold, Dawn, Mark, Lauren, Nate, Doug and Family

God Bless Joy and God Bless Everyone of You!

We shall meet her again in the air, she is flying now, filled with the Love of Jesus!
Love,

Dawn and Family
It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back again.
I love you
