I am Truly Sorry to all the family; This is defiantly a HUGE lost for both family and the community;
Juan Jose Prieto was a GREAT and DISTINGUISHED Man, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.
He is defiantly in a much better place were he can rest for eternal life.
No more working Mr. Prieto as I could only remember one day when I walked in your store and you were not there. Even after moving to Florida and on my visits to Connecticut he would still remember me; “Caguas” was my 1st stop for those Pernil sandwiches they are the BEST. This lost saddens our hearts.
I am truly sorry Mandy------Martin please continue the Great Work as you have been doing for the past few years!

There are no words that can express the lost of this LEGEND!!! He was always helping out the underdog in his community. He opened his store to those with and without money. Always had his little notebook keeping record of those in need and he helped!!! He will be deeply missed!! His humble heart, I'm sure was greatly appreciated throughout those he encountered!!! Thank you Prieto for loving your people!!!!!

May Our Lord fill the Prieto family with a peace that surpasses all understanding. What good memories I have of that area and Prieto was part of those memories. We lived over the Barber Shop and would go every day to Prieto for our ham and cheese sandwiches, of course on our parents' tab!..and years later when visiting my brother, Eddie, "El Coquito" I would make sure I walk to Prieto's just to reminisce the good old days. Thank you for sharing your father with us.

We, at the clerk's office, feel deeply saden over the loss of "Prieto"(as he is very famously known). He was known in this office for his "cuban sandwiches", nobody makes them like he does. I myself, have known Prieto since 1975 when I relocated here from Puerto Rico. Prieto was a fine gentleman, and a respectable business owner, who always sang the oldies that made you remember where you came from the minute you walked into his store. He was outstanding within the hearts of the spanish community and, inspiracional to those who knew him. Our condolencies to The Prieto Family.

Words alone cannot express my sympathy on the untimely death of your beloved husband, father, brother and friend. To say that his time with us was far too short is an understatement. The reality is that he will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him.
No doubt the outpouring of sympathy you have received since his parting has been of some consolation. Hopefully it will serve as a reminder to you of how well-loved and liked he was.

Juan, Martin, and Diana I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I had the privelege and honer of knowing this geat man and his family. As a kid I grew up directly upstairs from Caguas grocery store for many years and I remember where my father would send me downstairs for a pack of smokes and other things on his tab. Those were the good old days. I'll never forget Prieto and the way he treated my family. He was a pioneer and great business man and an incredible family man.
