Judith Rowinski Obituary

Judith Anne Rowinski
Cheshire - Judith Anne Rowinski, 83, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of John Louis Rowinski.
Mrs. Rowinski was born April 27, 1942, in Stratford, the daughter of the late Carmine and Doris (Snee) DeLibro. She was a primary school teacher for over 55 years in Connecticut and Wheaton, IL. She was appointed as the original first grade teacher for the new St Bridget Elementary Catholic School when it opened for the 1994 – 1995 school year, becoming the Assistant Principal in 2008. She retired in June 2021.
She graduated Stratford High School in 1960, Southern Connecticut State University ( New Haven, CT) in 1964, and later University of Bridgeport ( CT) and SCSU with Graduate degrees of Education and Reading.
In addition to her beloved husband of 61 years, she is survived by her daughters Leigh Anne and Jamie Lynn Rowinski of Cheshire, her brother Warren DeLibro and his wife, her daughter-in-law Barbara (Sands) Rowinski, with additional cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, John Christopher Rowinski, and her brother Burton.
She will be remembered for her joyous and inspiring love for her family, her students, and many wonderful teaching colleagues and friendships developed over her lifetime. She has many talents and gifts she has shared to create life-building experiences in her roles as a mother, wife, teacher, faith educator, colleague, teammate, friend, and community volunteer. Her positive inspiration to live each day to the fullest, and inspire her students is borne of the grace God has blessed her with, her boundless enthusiasm and determination to see the desired results happen for the children's best experiences to grow themselves.
Her life purpose is best expressed in her commitment to providing a beautiful childhood to her own three children and their life plans, most especially for her daughter Jamie; and her 27 years of dedicated service to the children and families of St Bridget's Catholic School and Parish community in Cheshire.
Arrangements- Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. On Friday, her procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 and proceed to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish – St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judith Rowinski Scholarship Award with St Bridgets Catholic School in Cheshire CT. Judy was the truest of servant leaders, and she taught her students and the whole St. Bridget community the same. The work ethic and faith she carried serve as an example to all her students. Heaven just got a GEM! May she rest in God's peace.
