Katherine R. Selvaggi

SELVAGGI Katherine R. Selvaggi, age 93, previously of Milford, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Seymour, September 22, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Venuto and Palmina Gervasoni Katherine and resided in Bridgeport for 60 years moving to Milford 10 years ago. She retired from Bridgeport Hospital and volunteered as a cuddlier in the Newborn ICU for many years. A member of the Stratford Baldwin Center and the Milford Senior Center, she participated in the Senior Basketball Olympics, the Milford Senior Gospel Choir and was a puppeteer with the seniors going to local schools and putting on puppet shows for the children. Survivors include her children, Maggie Selvaggi Miller of Milford, and Ralph Selvaggi and his wife, Gela of Easton; four grandchildren, Sean Miller of Milford, Meaghan Miller of Ansonia, Lara Selvaggi of Denver, Colo., and Kori Selvaggi of Somerville, Mass.; one great-grandson, Justin Miller of Ansonia. Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be private. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to service time in the funeral home.
