Kenneth Bruno Obituary

Kenneth C. Bruno
Kenneth C. Bruno, age 78, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on February 12, 1947, Ken had left us with his thoughts on how he would like to be remembered.
"I was a loving and caring husband to Sandy, a devoted son to Theresa and Carmen, a loving brother to Jack, Charlie and Aggie. A proud father of Ken, Tami, and Jill. A wonderful father-in-law to Nikki, Carlos, and Jay. I cherished several grandchildren. A loyal patriot serving 21 years in the Army National Guard, retiring with the respected rank of 1st SGT, proudly following in my father's footsteps. A respected civil servant, serving as the superintendent of Parks and Recreation in the city of Bridgeport for 27 years. A mentor for the youth of Bridgeport, serving as a director of the Boys and Girls Club of Bridgeport for 23 years. I was a loyal friend to many, and my friends were like family to me. I was a lover of all animals, no matter the breed, species or age."
Ken passed from this earth peacefully and free from the confines of his body that had failed him. May we carry on his legacy. He was a man never to be forgotten.
At Ken's request, a memorial service and interment will be held privately by close family. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you please donate to a local veteran's organization, your local animal shelter or animal rescue in his honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview funeral home, Trumbull and online condolences may be left by visiting us at www.abriola.com

Ken was a teammate and friend many years ago/ through the years as director of the boys clubs in Bridgeport I recognized a selfless care giving individual who reached out to many individuals in which many people may not have and assisted them in becoming outstanding citizens. Ken lived his life dedicating himself to his family / friends and his community.Although he will be missed may we all keep his spirit alive with the wonderful memories and special moments we shared/ as we celebrate a life well lived. In closing I might add/ his last breath on this earth may have been devastating /his first breath in Heaven will be AMZING/ rest in peace my friend.Gary Zingo and Mary Nash.

Heartbroken to hear the news of Ken's passing after recently catching up with him at Thanksgiving after many absent years. We go back 70 years to Little League and he regaled me with memories I had forgotten of the games of our youth. Great athlete and a better person.
