Kenneth Kubel Obituary

Kenneth S. Kubel Jr.
Kenneth S. Kubel Jr., age 56, beloved husband of Ann Costello Kubel, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on October 16, 1967, he was the son of Charleen Mitchell Giotopulos and the late Kenneth S. Kubel Sr. A graduate of Central High School Class of 1985, Officer Kubel dedicated his life to serve and protect. At the age of 22, he joined the City of Bridgeport Police Department and earned the rank of Sergeant. Retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to Bridgeport, Ken went on to join the Stratford Police Department, where he would serve for the last nine years. Ken was the biggest gentle giant anyone would ever meet. He was dedicated to the care and love of his family and always put their needs before his own. He treasured time spent with his family and friends, and always had the biggest smile when his granddaughter was by his side. The values he instilled and the unconditional love he gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 30 years, Ann Costello Kubel, and his mother, Charleen Mitchell Giotopulos, survivors include his four loving children: Kristina Sands and her husband Kevin, Kenneth Domenic Stanley Kubel and his wife Laurel, Matthew Kubel, and Arleigh Kubel. He is also survived by a cherished and adored granddaughter, Karleigh Sands; a sister, Kathleen Lambert; an uncle, Jay Mitchell; father and mother-in-law, Domenic and Stella Costello; brother-in-law, Domenic Costello and his wife Danielle; sister-in-law, Tracy Norris and her husband Philip; as well as several nieces, nephews, friends, and his canine companion, Yankee. He was predeceased by his uncle, Richard Kubel, and his brother-in-law, Terrence Lambert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Those wishing to honor Ken's legacy of helping others, as he was just one donation away from 10 gallons of blood, may contribute memorials to the American Red Cross at 209 Farmington Ave., Farmington, CT 06032. My deepest sympathy to Ken´s family. I´m honored to have ever known who he was, just the nicest and most pleasant person whenever I saw him, while he was a sergeant and even running into to him around Stratford during his post career law enforcement reboot. He will be missed.

I remember this gentle man. His uncle Rich was my neighbor for many years until his passing. I met Kenny who was managing his uncles affairs. Kind man who insisted on giving me a personal item of his uncle Richard to remember him by. I thought that was such a sweet jester then and now I know that this man was an earth angel due to all of the love pouring out regarding his character here on earth. My deepest condolences to Kenny's family.
