Learco Ciano Obituary
Learco Ciano, age 81, resident of Milford, Conn., and devoted, loving husband to the late Ida Panuccio Ciano, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Milford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Antonio and Immaculata Coluccio Ciano, he was born on January 1, 1932 in Gioiosa Ionica, Calabria, Italy. Learco served with pride and honor in the Italian Army. Loving father, grandfather and brother-in-law, Learco's favorite pastimes included traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also created beautiful paintings as he was a gifted artist. In his spare time he devoted himself to volunteering at Milford Hospital and painting exquisite Christmas ornaments for the holiday fair at Mathewson School. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Learco leaves two devoted daughters, Elizabeth Knipstein and her husband Mark and Maria Martyn and her husband Tony, all of Milford, and a loving son, Anthony Ciano and his wife Angela of Erie, CO, and seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Cathryn, Nicole, Julia, Kimberly, Patrick, and Joseph. He is survived by six brothers-in-law who were like brothers to him; Dominic Panuccio of FL, Frank, Joseph, MD, and Rocco Panuccio of Italy, Tony Panuccio of NJ and Vincent Panuccio of NV, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 11th at 11:00 am (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd, Milford. Interment in King's Highway Cemetery, Milford. Family and friends may call on Monday, June 10th from 4 to 7 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
